Batonis Tsikhe one of the most significant monuments of late feudalist Georgia in Telavi, the residence of Georgian kings in XVII-XVIII century.
The complex embraces the fence of the fortress with two gates, Royal Palace constructed in the 60-ies of XVII century, two churches, bath, and tunnel. Inside the fence state offices, princes’ palace and seminary (its remnants are preserved). Damaged complex was restored in the second half of XIX century and new buildings were added (church school, so called ‘Treasury’, prison, the belfry etc.)
